2-6 October 2013, Frasne, France
The GPWG workshop held in Frasne, in the Franche-Comte region, was sponsored by the University of Franche-Comte and PAGES. Participants from seven countries presented recent fire history investigations, developed new project ideas for future global and regional charcoal syntheses and learned to use a newly developed paleofire R package. The R package is being developed by members of the GPWG Coordination Team and is an effort to improve user access to the global charcoal database. The paleofire R package was tested during the workshop and participants were taught how to run the functions and explore the paleofire data. This workshop was sponsored by PAGES and the University of Franche-Comte.
